About us

The Korean Traditional Performers Group Hanmadang Inc. (Hanmadang Korean Performing Arts) is a Brisbane-based nonprofit cultural organisation dedicated to preserving, promoting, and sharing Korean traditional performing arts through performance, education, cultural exchange, and community engagement.

Established in 2010, Hanmadang has actively engaged communities across Australia and internationally through traditional Korean music, dance, drumming, and cultural workshops. The group has performed at multicultural festivals, government and community events, schools, cultural celebrations, and international cultural exchanges.

Our mission is to preserve and promote Korean traditional performing arts, pass this cultural heritage on to future generations, and foster greater cultural understanding and inclusion within Australia's multicultural community.

Hanmadang works with local councils, government bodies, multicultural organisations, educational institutions, community groups, and other cultural organisations to introduce Korean traditional arts to diverse audiences.

Our activities include traditional Korean percussion and performing arts performances, cultural workshops, educational programs, community events, multicultural festivals, and opportunities for youth participation.
